Niños, Cebu Province ready for PNG taekwondo contest
TAEKWONDO athletes from Team Cebu City and Team Cebu Province are all set for the week-long 2016 Philippine National Games (PNG), which will start this Monday in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Cebu Province, which topped the PNG – Visayas Leg in Aklan last November, will be represented by University of Cebu headed by coach Michael Realista.
Cebu Province will field in PNG – Visayas Leg gold medalists Kissha Barro, Melody Jane Infante, Mayn Coran, Nica Garces, Angelica Torremocha, Ma. Carmela Coran, Aila Marie Lepon and Andrea Toleroso in the women’s division.
Kirk Labiste, Dominic Sator, Michael Boncales and Abdali Capal will compete in the men’s division.
The Team Cebu City Niños will be spearheaded by Southwestern University’s Raul Luna, University of San Carlos’ (USC) Benedict Suico,
John Paul Tomarse of the RPower Taekwondo Club in the men’s division.
John Loi Gara of Southwestern University and Micah Marie Mission of the University of San Jose-Recoletos will strut their wares for the Niños in the junior women’s division.
SWU’s Athena Gara and USC’s John Bugarin will also represent Cebu City in the juniors poomsae competition.
The taekwondo events will run from March 8-10 at the Lingayen Central School Gym.
