5th AWUM Ultra Marathon blasts off Saturday with 250 runners
THE FIFTH edition of the annual All-Women’s Ultra Marathon (AWUM) will unfold this Saturday starting at the Senior Citizens’ Plaza and finishing at the Il Corso in the South Road Properties.
The running event will feature 250 female long distance runners trying to conquer a 50-kilometer run along the city’s major thoroughfares, according to one of the organizers, Tony Galon of the Cebu Ultrarunners Club (CUC).
The race kicks off Saturday evening and will have a cut-off time of 10 hours.
Defending champion Sandra Soliano leads the top contenders along with Preciosa Sanchez and Jade Abellana.
This running event is held in-line with the celebration of Women’s Month this March.
