THE police aren’t letting up on their efforts to prosecute Asst. Cebu City Prosecutor Mary Ann Castro.

Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, deputy regional director for operations of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), said they are now consulting with lawyer Innocencio dela Cerna on what charges to file against Castro.

Dela Cerna said they are looking at the possibility filing an administrative complaint against her at the Department of Justice and to seek her disbarment before the Supreme Court.

They also intend to file a complaint for the violation of the code of ethics of a government official before the Office of the Visayas Ombudsman.

Dela Cerna said they will also be filing a motion to ask the court to re-evaluate the complaints for grave coercion, grave oral defamation and resistance and disobedience to persons of authority which they earlier filed against her.

“We want the court to re-evaluate and re-assess the cases,” said dela Cerna.

Police filed five complaints against Castro. But the City Prosecutor’s Office only indicted her on two counts of direct assault and malicious mischief.

The three other complaints were ordered dismissed.
