Comelec confirms tapping malls as voting precincts
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the voting in malls nationwide.
In a press briefing in Cebu City on Saturday night, Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista told reporters here that 86 malls around the country will serve as voting precincts that could accommodate 200,000 voters.
Bautista said 86 out of 120 places voted in favor of holding the poll inside malls.
He said they are also looking at holding the voting process at an earlier time.
“We are doing ongoing consultation on field to determine if its possible to open the polling precinct at 7 a.m. or at an earlier time,” he said.
