Cebuano mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Eugene “El Torrero” Toquero suffered his third loss in the hands of Brazilian jiujitsu fighter Adrian Moraes in the co-main event of the One Championships 39 held at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar last Friday night.

Toquero, a native of Alcantara town, South Cebu initially led the judges scorecards after hitting Moraes with accurate strikes but everyone was surprised when he yielded to Moraes after he got entangled in Moraes’s Anaconda Choke at the 4:53 mark of the first round.

Toquero tapped out from the choke and Moraes scored his 14th win with two losses. The Cebuano MMA fighter is considered one of the top prospects in the flyweight division of One Championships before he lost to the Brazilian blackbelt.

Toquero is a former member of the Philippine Muay Thai team.
