Police nab 5 Koreans accused of operating an illegal online gambling site

POLICE arrested five South Koreans in Nasipit, Barangay Talamban, Cebu City on Friday who were allegedly operating an illegal online gambling site.

Elements from the Special Operation Group (RSOG),  a unit under the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of  the Philippine National Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7),  arrested the foreign nationals inside a rented townhouse on Park Terrace residential complex in Talamban based on a search warrant issued by Cebu Regional Trial Court Branch 17 Judge Marivic Trabajo Daray, according to a spot report released today by RSOG.

The report identified the four as Kim Jong Oo, 26; Kim Do Hyeong, 28; Park Oong Word, 32,; Kim Soon Min, 28; and Kang Ho Chan, 41.

Kim Jong Oo was the target of the operation but the other four who allegedly worked for him were also placed under arrest, the report said.

The arresting team, led by Supt. Arnold Palomo, seized several computers, cellular phone SIM packs and a number of internet devices.
