HEAVY traffic congestion occurred along the national highway at Natalio Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City at noon Tuesday after a concrete post hit the passenger side of a taxi.

The taxi driver Rodulfo Erias said he and his two passengers were safe as the concrete post fell on top of the vehicle’s right side.

The 63-year-old Erias said he was headed to N. Bacalso Avenue’s north bound lane when the accident occurred.

The concrete post came from a trailer truck driven by 46-year-old Carlito Pantaleon. Pantaleon was maneuvering a left turn along the same avenue at 11 a.m. Tueday when the concrete post he carried hit the taxi’s right side.

He said he stopped near the Cebu South Bus Terminal as he headed to the construction site in the area.

Pantaleon said the security guard at the construction site warned vehicles tailing the truck to stop as he tried to turn left but Erias failed to heed the warning
