THE 2ND Roger Abella Memorial Open Chess Tournament will be held this April 17 at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Organized by the Cebu City Sports Commission and the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA), the tournament aims to pay tribute to Cebu’s “Father of Scrabble” Roger Abella, who passed away on 2013.
Big cash prizes are at stake in the one-day tournament with the champion taking home P7,000 plus a trophy.
The tournament will use a seven-round Swiss system format. Registration fee is pegged at P300 for regular players and P150 for ladies and kiddie wood pushers.
