Grand Land in talks with potential partners
PROPERTY developer Grand Land, Inc. is eyeing partnerships with big Asian companies for the development of two new projects.
The projects, a resort and a hotel, are targeted to start in the second half of this year, said Ryan Bernard Go, Grand Land president and chief executive officer.
Go said they were in talks with three companies. One is expected to fly in for negotiations this week.
“They are mostly big Asian brands — Asian hospitality companies — but they already have presence around the world,” he said.
Grand Land, real estate development arm of Gaisano Grand Group, earlier entered into a partnership with Dusit International for the hotel component of Grand Towers Cebu, a 30-story mixed-use development that is under construction at the Cebu North Reclamation Area.
Go said work on Grand Towers is “doing well and going smoothly.” The development, which will be operational by 2019, will be home to a 270-room Dusit Princess hotel.
Other projects are Amani Grand Mactan, which will start in the second half of this year; City Homes Premier Mandaue and Minglanilla; Grand Residences condominium towers 3 and 4; and economic housing project Anahaw in Mactan.
“Cebu is really growing in terms of properties. The market for international buyers is also growing,” Go said.
At the Amani Grand Mactan, the company topped off the first of six buildings last month. The six-story building will be finished in December this year and turned over to buyers in January 2017.
Amani Grand Davao will also be launched soon. Grand Land is also expecting Grand Mall Davao to be completed “very soon.”
Slated for turnover are some 200 units of City Homes Mandaue and Mactan. Turnover of Grand Residences Tower 2, which has over 200 units, will also happen soon. Tower one of the project has been turned over to unit owners.
Despite the numerous projects in Cebu, Go said there is still room to grow.
“Supply is still a bit low for the mid-market segment and economic housing. Over-saturation may be far off,” he said.
The company has a total of 10 projects in Cebu and Davao in its portfolio.
