Capitol mulls calamity status in province due to dry spell

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III is considering to declare  a state of calamity in the province to prepare for contingency measures in dealing with the worsening dry season.

Budget officer Danilo Rodas said they have P34 million from the province’s quick response fund to fund these measures.

Baltazar Tribunalo, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, said they will send teams to assess the damages caused by the dry spell in the affected towns.
