District Events is set to stage the grandest bazaar in Metro Cebu this summer, on April 15-16, at the Oakridge Pavilion in Oakridge Business Park, Mandaue City.

The Pop District Bazaar Summer Kick-off will be the first of three Pop District Bazaar events happening this year. The bazaar series will begin with the Summer Kick-off, to be tailed by two more fairs happening on September 3 to 4 and December 16 to 17 of this year.
The main concept of Pop District Bazaars is to provide shoppers with the ultimate shopping environment, said District Events general manager Charmaine de Leon.

The summer event will feature booths and products by Cebu-grown entrepreneurs, both online and home-based. The bazaar will have booths in three categories: lifestyle, food, and a crafter’s area. The lifestyle stalls are those that sell clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories, among other lifestyle items. The bazaar will have two areas for food stalls, indoors and outdoors, and the crafter’s area will feature art and hobby products made from organic and handmade materials.

The bazaar will also have an art exhibit dubbed “Dear Summer,” which will feature calligraphy, typography, and hand-lettering. In the late afternoon, live acoustics by local bands will also perform. Some of the performers on the line-up are Ron Soloista, Three Legged Men, and August Afternoon.

Another highlight of the event is the blogger meet and greets. Cebu and Manila-based bloggers will grace the event namely David Guison, Michael Macalos, Andrew Pablico, Doyzkie Buenaviaje, Jesse Jake Daan, Michael Karlo and Lance De Ocampo, Chin Chin Obcena, Vina Guerrero, Vern and Verniece Enciso, Alexa Martin, Sophia Sanchez, Vanessa East, Etienne Codina, Gillian Uang, and Kryz Uy. They will be given time each to have meet and greets with their readers and fans, as well as have ‘closet raids’ where they will be selling their clothes.

Tickets to the Summer Kick-Off are at P100 each day if purchased on either April 15 or 16. Tickets purchased before the event will only cost P100 for the two days, as well as raffle tickets for hourly raffle draws, where one gets a chance to win prizes and gift certificates from sponsors and concessionaires. Children aged four and below will be admitted for free.

One of the major sponsors, Uber, will be giving free rides to and from Oakridge Pavilion on the dates of the bazaar, provided promo codes. These will also be made available for first time users of Uber in Cebu. There will also be 200 free parking slots for early birds.
