SOME parts of Cebu experienced light to moderate rains early Wednesday at past 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Based on a Pagasa advisory, light to moderate rains were experienced in Cebu City, Mandaue City, Consolacion town, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova town, Talisay City, Minglanilla town, Alcoy town, Dalaguete town, Argao and Sibonga towns, Moalboal, Badian towns, Alcantara, Ronda and Dumanjug towns.

Radio listener Marlon Lopez said heavy rain was also experienced in Liloan town between 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. and at past 6 a.m.

Pagasa also noted that rains also hit Leyte and Southern Leyte including Silago, Sogod, Bontoc, Maasin City, Macrohon, Tomas Oppus and nearby areas.

The rain lasted between one to two hours.

Alice Canasa, weather specialist of Pagasa Mactan, said Bohol also experienced rain at past 7 a.m.

Still, Canasa said Cebu will experience warmer temperatures between 26 to 34 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Oscar Tabada, Pagasa Visayas chief, said the rain was caused by the easterly wind and convective winds.

“The heat from the ground produced convective clouds that caused the rains,” he said.
