Following an impressive showing in Ubay, Bohol last week, Cebuano Marc Nicole Suson once again lived up to his lofty billing as he pocketed two titles in the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championships on Thursday in Talibon, Bohol.
Suson, who snatched three titles in Ubay, continued his dominant run by beating fellow Cebuano Francis Hidalgo, 7-5, 7-5, in the 16-under boys’ final.
Suson and Hidalgo also met in the 16-under boys’ final IN Ubay leg in where the former pulled off a 6-3, 6-4 win.
Suson, who will be celebrating his 16th birthday on Monday, completed his stellar performance with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph over University of the Visayas (UV) ace Norman Enriquez in the 18-under boys’ finale.
In girls’ division, two-time Batang Pinoy gold medalist Elizabeth Abarquez also bagged two titles.
Abarquez defeated Mary Aubrey Calma, 6-4, 6-1, in the 16-under girls’ division final, then teamed up with University of San Carlos’ Shyne Villareal in beating Cebuana Kara Salimbangon and Calma in the doubles title match.
Meanwhile, Lapu-Lapu City’s Tiffany Claire Nocos fell shot in her campaign as she lost to Casey Padilla, 4-6, 5-7, and Elaine Rose Bahonsua, 2-6, 2-6, in the 12-under and 14-under girls’ categories, respectively.
