THE suspect in the murder of the supporter of Tuburan mayoral candidate Aljun Diamante was arrested by operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG).

The suspect identified as Ludivico Oroquera was arrested in barangay Monte Alegre, Tuburan town at past 3 a.m. by a team led by Supt. Rex Derillo, RSOG chief.

Oroquera was linked to the murder of 48-year-old Rene Cangmaong in an upland area in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Mag-Antoy in Tuburan town, midwest Cebu last Wednesday.

Cangmaong was a former New People’s Army (NPA) rebel who became a job order employee working as a market guard in Tuburan.

Seized from Oroquera were one carbine rifle, one shotgun, one .45 pistol and assorted ammunition.

During the sendoff ceremony for the deployment of police officers at the Police Regional Office, Chief Supt. Patrocinio Commendador said Oroquiera’s arrest should serve as a warning to those planning to sow violence during the elections.
