Police checking bomb threat in Tuburan; bag on motorcycle said to contain explosives
CEBU CITY–Policemen have cordoned off an area where a motorcycle has been parked outside the Cebu Technological University (CTU) campus in Tuburan town, northwestern Cebu on suspicion that it contained a bomb.
Senior Insp. Leo Logronio, Tuburan police chief, said his men kept watch at the motorcycle while waiting for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to arrive from the Cebu Provincial Police Office headquarters in Cebu City, about 96 km away.
The CPPO instructed the Tuburan police past 2 p.m. on Thursday to check and investigate a suspicious-looking motorcycle parked outside the CTU-Tuburan campus in Barangay Poblacion 8.
The motorcycle was reportedly loaded with a bag containing explosives.
Logronio said he immediately sent his men to the area and found the motorcycle.
He then requested the CPPO to send an EOD team to inspect the motorcycle.
While waiting for the team to arrive, his men cordoned and guarded the area.
