A construction worker died after he jumped off the Mananga bridge Monday afternoon.

Reynaldo Sumo-ob, 34, was already dead when brought to the Talisay City District Hospital.

“Naka-vote pa na siya, unya paghuman nag-inom (He joined friends in a drinking session after he voted),” said his half-sister Reyna Quindao.

Quindao claimed that her half-brother had a problem with illegal drugs and twice had to be brought to the hospital for treatment.

She said that he was released from the hospital after the attending physician found him okay and healthy.

She also claimed that Sumo-ob has been saying “weird things” lately, but she didn’t elaborate on this.

At around 4 p.m. Monday, Quindao said they were shocked to learn from a radio report that Sumo-ob had jumped off the Mananga bridge.

“Naka dungog na lang mi sa radyo nga naay nag bike nga ni ambak sa Mananga (We just heard over the radio that there’s a man, who rode a bicycle to the Mananga bridge, jumped off the bridge).
