THOUGH confronted with time constraints, the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) still managed to gather 23 local government units (LGUs) in Cebu to take part in the first Cebu Provincial Summer Games 2016, set to start on May 20-22 in Balamban, Cebu.

Among the towns set to compete are baseball finalists Tuburan and Minglanilla, Sogod and host Balamban.

CPSC Executive Director and Attorney Ramil P. Abing said they sent invitations to different municipalities and cities in Cebu but only 23 decided to join as some towns were busy preparing for the recently concluded elections.

The competition will serve as a continuation of the their Grassroots Sports and Development Program which started last year.

“This is the first time that the province will be holding this kind of summer games. The athletes should expect fierce competition. Athletes will be scouted for a chance to represent the province in various local and national competitions,” Abing added.
