Eight cops commended for anti-drug drive

EIGHT policemen received commendations for their efforts in the anti-drug campaign in Cebu.

Medalya ng Kagalingan were handed to SPO1 Reynaldo Solante, PO3 Rizalito Recongco, PO3 Jonathan Buscato, PO2 Jemuel Vilaflores, Po2 Chrisdie Lawian, PO1 Christian Illut, PO1 Roseller Roxas and PO1 Mahigu Denopol of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB).

PIB operatives raided two houses in barangay Lamintak Norte in Medellin town Tuesday and Thursday that resulted in the seizure of P17.4 million worth of drugs, the death of a suspected pusher and the arrest of three cohorts.

Early on Thursday morning, PIB operatives raided the home of John Neil Cabatingan in sitio Proper, barangay Lamintak Norte and confiscated 1.3 kilos of shabu worth P16 million. But no arrests were made.

Last Tuesday afternoon, PIB operatives raided the house of a certain Ariel Ortega, a suspected level 2 drug pusher and confiscated P1.4 million worth of shabu.

Ortega eluded arrest but PIB operatives killed another drug suspect, Hanzel Valiente, in a shootout.

They also arrested three men – Dominador Golisao, Richard Pradilla and Kurt Catana – who were believed to be their cohorts.
