Crime down four percent in Central Visayas

There is a four percent decrease in crime rates all over Central Visayas from January to March this year compared to the same period last year.

During a public safety forum, Chief Supt. Patrocinio Comendador Jr., Police Regional Office chief, said they recorded 23,284 crimes from January to March this year which is lower than the 24,354 recorded crimes in the same period last year.

Comendador said based on police blotter records, 36 percent or 6,094 of the crimes are traffic related incidents while 20 percent or 3,386 are violations of special laws.
