Cash-rich MSBC summer badminton kicks off today
MORE than a hundred badminton pairs will be showcasing their powerful smashes and deft drop shots in the Metrosports Summer Badminton Tournament which unfolds today at the Metrosports Center in Lahug.
Among those expected to compete will be smashers from different badminton clubs in Cebu and neighboring provinces.
Three categories will be featured in the one-day, cash rich tournament namely the Age Group category, Seniors, and Executives.
The Seniors category will have men’s, women’s and mixed doubles in five levels (Open, D, E, F, G) while the Age Group class will only have boys and girls doubles in three age brackets.
The Executives category, meanwhile, will have two levels for Men’s doubles only.
Champions in the Senior’s Open division will bag P3,000 grand while winners in levels D and E will take home P2,500. Champions in levels F and G still in the Seniors category will bank P2,000 in cash.
The Age Group and Executives champions will pocket P1,500 and P2,500, respectively while all second placers will bring home P1,000.
The annual summer tournament is backed by Li-Ning, Bucket Shrimps, Crown Regency, Park n’ Go, and Sun Cellular with Cebu Daily News as official media partner.
