Reigning Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Floremel Rodriguez will be bringing her skills to Las Piñas City as she joins National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) powerhouse University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD).

In an exclusive interview with Cebu Daily News, Rodriguez said one of the reasons why she is transferring is because her previous school, Southwestern University (SWU), is set to remove the degree program she is taking from the courses offered.

Another reason is that she wants more exposure in her volleyball career.

“This is an opportunity for me to play in Manila so it’s a go,” Rodriguez said.

The 19-year-old Rodriguez, who is taking up Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, said she was given the green light by her parents to study in Manila after UPHSD head coach Sinfronio “Sammy” Acaylar talked to them.
