THIRTY-THREE brave runners will try to conquer the first-ever high altitude 42-kilometer full marathon in the Trans Cebu Night Marathon tonight starting in Barangay Busay, Cebu City.
The grueling run’s course will take participants through the treacherous Transcentral Highway, which has a maximum elevation of 860 meters above sea level, all the way to Balamban town, western Cebu.
Organized by Blue Tradio, the running event is aiming to showcase a new challenge for long distance runners who want to try hardcore marathon.
Multi-titled ultra marathoners such as Bayani Alvarez and Preciosa Sanchez are competing in the run that has a 10-hour cut-off time.
Those who can make it to the finish line will receive a finisher’s medal, finisher’s shirt and customized race bib.
