Danao drug raid nets couple, P50K worth of ‘shabu’
A couple were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Danao City last Thursday.
Michele Mediana was arrested for selling illegal drugs while her husband, Ronel, was collared for illegal possession of drugs, said Chief Insp. Maximo Sumeg-ang, Criminal Investigation and Detective Team (CIDT-Cebu province).
Sumeg-ang said they also arrested two other persons — Alvin Santiago and Charito Dagami — who were allegedly caught sniffing suspected shabu inside the house of the couple, whom Sumeg-ang called a suspected drug den.
The police also confiscated suspected shabu worth at least P50,000 from the couple.
Sumeg-ang said they conducted a two-week surveilance on the suspects before they conducted the buy-bust operation.
Sumeg-ang said Ronel pleaded with police not to arrest his wife because they have five children including a six-month-old child whom Michelle breastfed.
The couple, however, were detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) detention cell in Cebu City pending the filing of charges.
The couple’s children were left in the care of their aunt.
