Lapu-Lapu drug raids net 7 persons, yield P100K worth of illegal drugs

Seven persons were arrested in simultaneous drug operations in Lapu-Lapu City last Thursday evening yielding more than P100,000 worth of suspected shabu, cash and drug paraphernalia.

In Sitio Kalinga, Barangay Mactan, Vicente Silawan, 40, was arrested in a buy-bust operation led by the team of Senior Insp. Verniño Noserale of the Lapu-Lapu City police.

Silawan was caught after he sold suspected shabu worth at least P200 to an undercover policeman at 6 p.m.

Chief Insp. Gifter Sucalit of the Lapu-Lapu City police said they confiscated 17 sachets, a medium pack of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P67,000 during the operation.

At about the same time in Barangay Gun-ob, a team led by Senior Insp. Jaime Tolentino, Hoops Dome Police Station chief, arrested Jason Estrada, 21, John Roy Casio, 25, Richard Tuñacao, 23, and Ronald Pino, 33, after they were caught inside the house of the target of their raid Ebit Aparece.

Tolentino said Aparece, however, escaped.

Police confiscated 46 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P50,000 inside the house of Aparece.

Tolentino said the four persons arrested will face a case of violation of visiting a drug den.

Another anti-illegal drug operation was conducted at past 6 p.m. in Sitio Abuno, Barangay Pajac, which led to the arrest of Reginald Jay Salientes, 28, and Randy Legaspi, 38.

They were caught during a buy-bust operation led by Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad of the Lapu-Lapu police.

They also confiscated 18 sachets of suspected shabu worth at least P6,500, assorted drug paraphernalia and P200 marked money.

The suspects were detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police headquarters detention cell pending the filing of charges.
