THE elections may be over but the campaign for good governance continues for the Cebu Citizens Involvement and Maturation for People Empowerment and Liberation (C-Cimpel).

“In between elections, we do seminars on good governance at the barangay level or town level. That had been going on in between elections… after 2010 and 2013 elections,” C-Cimpel executive director Marilu Chiongban said.

C-Cimpel organized a thanksgiving celebration for the 10,000 volunteers that helped them out during the just concluded elections at the covered court in the Archbishop’s Palace.

Chiongban said the transmission of results was faster, since they received the election returns at 4 p.m. compared to 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. in the 2013 elections.

Chiongban said they also tapped persons with disabilities (PWDs) to augment their ranks.

Cora Clarin, a PWD Provincial Federation representative and a facilitator of the group Fully Abled Nation, said their work helped her and others gain the respect of other volunteers.
