THE NEWLY formed Commission On Family and Life of the Archdiocese of Cebu will try to spread awareness about the importance of family when it holds its running event dubbed Run For Your Family on June 4 at the Archbishop’s Palace compound along D. Jakosalem road, Cebu City.

Headed by Commission on Family and Life chairman Rev. Fr. Ely Suico, the running event is also aiming to introduce their organization, which is the implementing arm of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

Formed last year, the organization conducts counseling for married couples, families and unmarried couples on how to strengthen their ties through faith.

“We have to show everyone the importance of the family which is the most basic sector of the society. We are not aware that every day a lot of families are destroyed for various reasons that’s why this organization was formed by the Archdiocese of Cebu to address that concern,” said Fr. Suico in the official launching of the running event on Monday at the Archbishop’s Palace compound.

The running event will feature 1k and 3k family categories and 5k and 10k distances.

Registration fee is P300 for the 1k, P350 for the 3k, P400 for the 5k and P450 for the 10k inclusive of a race shirt, bib, finishers’ medal and refreshments after the race.

Registration is going on at all parish church offices in Cebu.
