A fiesta celebration in the village of Ilihan in Toledo City turned bloody when a drunken melee among in-laws resulted to the death of one and the injury to another, police said.

The incident, which happened at around 1 p. m last Tuesday, claimed the life of Roel Tundag, 58, a resident of Barangay Ilihan, said Police Officer 3 Carlos Barluado of the Toledo City Police Office (TCPO).

Tundag was having drinks with his in-laws when he was stabbed in the chest with a 12-inch knife by his brother-in-law, identified as Dino Cabriana, 38, following a heated argument.

Chelton Cabriana, a brother of Dino, tried to help Tundag but he was in turn stabbed by Rolando Delfino, also a brother-in-law of Dino.

Tundag and Chelton were both rushed to the Toledo City District Hospital but Tundag died before he got there. Cheton’s condition remained unknown.

Dino Cabriana and Delfino were now held at the TCPO detention facility, said Barluado.
