Cebu City–A public school teacher in Barili town, about 61 km southwest of Cebu City, was among the 15 persons who were arrested during a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Sambag Uno here on Wednesday night.

Jeramil Sanchez was identified through his identification card from the Department of Education, said Senior Insp. Eunil Avergonzado, head of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force.

He said Sanchez, who was allegedly caught sniffing the illegal substance during the raid, told the police that he was a public school teacher.

Avergonzado, however, said the suspect declined to identify the school he was teaching in.

Also arrested were Archie Roma and Bayani Alcomendras, suspected drug peddlers who were targets of the raid.

Avergonzado said most of Roma’s customers were passengers of the nearby South Bus Terminal along Natalio Bacalso Avenue.

Also arrested were Wilfredo Marco, Sherwin Gonzales, Vince Quijano, Jessie James Belotindo Alcos, Vince Quijano, Jerry Rosal Dean, Mark Ungria Vergara, Pejay Simon Dalota Mangaytay, Melvin Malou Ababon, Brian Amancio Brigooli, Alex Hubahab Montecillo, and Josephine Marcado Tabotabo.

Avergonzado said 12 small packs and two medium packs of suspected shabu worth P150,000 and a snub nose revolver were recovered during the raid.
