A MAN who allegedly torched their own house in Barangay Basdiot, Moalboal town, southwest Cebu last Sunday after suffering from a mental illness due to illegal drug use is now facing arson case.
PO1 Welmar Bolahan identified the suspect as Elizar Legara. His father, Juan called up the police authorities and asked them to put Elizar in jail.
Bolahan said that Elizar took some clothes from one of the rooms of their two-storey house and set them on fire.
The fire also damaged the Marina lodge and resort, located adjacent to the house of Legaras.
Moalboal fire station responded to the fire that damaged properties worth around P80,000.
