7:00 p.m. Phinma-SWU vs. Cebu Landmaster-USC

THE semifinal picture will be completed as a triple-header closes out the elimination round of the 8th Cesafi Partner’s Cup today at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Cebu Landmaster-University of San Carlos Warriors and the Highlands Corned Beef-University of Cebu Webmasters have their work cut out for them today as they take on mighty opponents in the Phinma-Southwestern University Cobras and the unbeaten Worthy-University of the Visayas Green Lancers.

Already assured of spots in the Final Four are the league-leading UV at 5-0 (win-loss), SWU which totes a 4-1 card and USJ-R, which beat UC, 77-70, on Tuesday night to bring their record to 3-2, good for third place. Currently tied at fourth place and battling for their playoff lives are UC and USC, which boast of identical 2-3 marks.

Competing in the first game is USJ-R, being backed by Mighty Sports, which will be facing off against the Tyron Properties-University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers. USPF actually has an outside shot at sneaking into the semifinals at 1-4 should they win today and hope that both UC and USC lose.

But should USC and UC emerge victorious in today’s games and end up tied, the Webmasters will be advancing to the next round by virtue of their 77-74 win over the Warriors in their lone elimination round encounter.
