ASPIRING basketball and volleyball players who are looking to take their talents to the UAAP will have their chance to do so this weekend as the Far Eastern University Tamaraws stages tryouts for both their basketball and volleyball teams at the Aznar Coliseum.
Basketball tryouts will start at 1 p.m. The proceedings will be overseen by FEU assistant coaches and Cebuanos Ryan Betia and Bert Flores. The Tamaraws have found Cebu to be a rich source for new recruits, snagging Roger Pogoy, Ron Dennison, Arnie Flores, Monbert Arong, Raymar Jose and Reeve Ugsang in recent years.
However, with their main core of Pogoy, Mac Belo and Mike Tolomia all exhausting their eligibility, the Tamaraws are hoping to reload in the hope of bolstering their roster for their upcoming title defense.
The volleyball tryouts, on the other hand, will be presided over by head coach Shaq delos Santos.
The tryouts will be staged on Saturday and Sunday.
