PINOY Pride 37: Fists of the Future fighters “Prince” Albert and Jason “El Niño” Pagara pack their bags and head to San Francisco today for their July 9 fights at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, California.
The boxing brothers leave with ALA prospect Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo who is also training with them for his upcoming match in Carson later this year as well as ALA head trainer Edmund Villamor and ALA Promotions International matchmaker Edito Villamor.
Aside from scheduled pre-events for the fighters, head trainer Edmund disclosed that they need to be at the fight venue early to acclimatize, considering San Francisco’s unpredictable chills even in summer.
The event’s press launch is first on the team’s promotional schedule on June 22nd, at the ABS-CBN International Office.
Armed with more than a month’s training at the Wild Card Gym, main event fighter and the younger of the brothers, WBO No. 2 Jr. Featherweight Albert Pagara is confident of beating Mexican warrior and former world title challenger Cesar Juarez (17W-5L, 13KOs).
The unbeaten Pagara (26-0 with 18 KOs) says he is as ready as he can be and promised an “impressive win” in what is touted as the most crucial fight of his buddinig boxing career.
Jason Pagara on the other hand, will see action in the co-main event against former Mexican Super lightweight champion Abraham Alvarez.
Ranked No. 1 Jr. Welterweight by the WBO, Jason Pagara is equally satisfied with the weeks he spent training for this fight.
