CEBUANO Arthur Craig Pantino remains the top player in the 16 years and under category in the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) rankings for the month of May.
The 15-year-old Pantino competed in several tournaments in Indonesia last month where he made a semifinal appearance in the AGS 5 Junior Tennis Championships.
However, his ranking may drop for the month of June as he is set to miss two tournaments in Bangkok, Thailand scheduled next week.
Joining Pantino in the latest ranking is fellow Cebuano Marc Nicole Suson who wound up fifth for the second straight month.
Lapu Lapu City’s Chad Connor Cuizon moved three places higher from his previous ranking to finish fourth in the 10-unisex classification.
Making a strong push was Carcar, Cebu’s Elizabeth Abarquez, who finally made it to the top 10 by finishing at eighth in the 16-under girls’ division after settling for the 13th spot in April.
Meanwhile, Cebuano players Venz Alforque and Shyne Villareal were booted out of the top 10 in their respective categories.
Alforque dropped from fifth to 13th while Villareal was ousted from 10th place to end up at the 11th spot in the 18-under girls’ division.
