Rains to continue today until Wednesday

THE public is advised to bring umbrellas today as light to moderate rains will continue until Wednesday this coming week.

Alfredo Quiblat, chief of the Mactan office of the state weather bureau Pagasa said the weather has been affected by two low pressure areas (LPA) brought by the inter tropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

“Rains can happen anytime of the day,” he told Cebu Daily News.

As of 3 p.m. Saturday, Pagasa issued a thunderstorm advisory for southern Cebu, Cebu City and nearby areas.

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to be in Cebu today for a thanksgiving party at the Sugbo Grounds of the South Road Properties (SRP) dubbed as “One Love, One Nation.”

Doris Mongaya, one of the organizers, said that those attending the open event are advised to bring umbrellas as it may rain. The event starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m./with UP Cebu Intern Maurice Jitty Villaester
