THE ALDUB pair proves they are never too busy not to pay a hospital visit and grant an ailing child’s wish.
Despite their hectic schedules in between hosting chores for “Eat Bulaga” and promoting their upcoming film “Imagine You and Me,” Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza made a surprise visit to one of the hospital rooms of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) to surprise a fan with hugs, a basket of fruits, a signed copy of a magazine with them as the cover, and a life-size teddy bear.
The 16-year-old girl named Jhommel Molina is an avid fan of the loveteam according to her father Rommel and had been following the Kalyeserye darlings’ love story every afternoon until she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for complications on her lungs following an operation.
“Isa po siya sa mga tumitili at kinikilig sa kanilang tambalan na AlDub sa Kalyeserye. Sabi pa nga po niya ay idol niya si Ate Maine at crush niya si Kuya Alden. Hindi nawawala ang kanyang ngiti sa tuwing nakikita nya ang mga ito sa TV. At sobrang lakas naman ang kanyang tawa kapag nagkukulitan ang mga Lolas. Para po sa kanya ang panonood ng Eat Bulaga ay naging parte na ng kanyang tanghalian sa araw araw,” Rommel wrote in an open letter on Facebook.
Jhommel is a Cerebral Palsy patient and is now depending on a respirator to breathe.
The girl had to undergo operations to get water out of her lungs and as a strict regulations, television is not allowed inside her room that devastated her since she would no longer be able to see Richards and Mendoza in the noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
According to her father’s earlier post, they stopped talking about the noontime show as Jhommel would feel devastated, and would dwell on the thought of not being able to see Richards and Mendoza, especially after the girl learned about the pair’s upcoming movie.
On the post, Rommel appealed as a father who only wanted to make her daughter and a visit from her idols would be the greatest gift he could give her, especially with her nearing birthday.
And the phenomenal couple did not disappoint Rommel and her daughter.
On Saturday afternoon, Richards and Mendoza went to PCMC to surprise the child right after a busy episode on “Eat Bulaga.”
“Wish granted! Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa bumubuo ng ALDUBnation, Eat Bulaga, at iba. Sobra pong ikinagulat namin at ng anak ko ang inyong pagdalaw sa ospital ng PCMC. Wala pong katumbas na kaligayahan ang naibigay nyo sa aking iisang anak. Alam kung super busy kayo pero naisinggit nyo ang pagdalaw sa aking anak … kami po ng aking asawa ay lubos na nagpapasalamat at napaunyakan nyo ang aming munting hiling…more power sa Eat Bulaga! Kay Alden Richards at Maine Mendoza, sana marami pa kayong mapasaya at matulungan! God Bless! Thank you!,” Rommel posted on his Facebook account.
