Cebu Niños sepak open category team ousted in Dipolog
THE CEBU City Niños Open Category team was kicked out early in the 3rd Mayor’s Cup Sepak Takraw National Championships in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
The young open team, which was spearheaded by playing coach Marlon Gicain, only managed to win once and got eliminated by Zamboanga City for good, 20-22, 21-15, 20-22.
Cebu’s sole win was against Mindanao State University, 25-24, 21-8, yesterday.
U-17 team still alive
But not all is over for Cebu as its Under-17 team will try to make up for the loss as it sees action today.
Gicain said only a few teams are competing in this category, which gives them a bigger chance of making it to the championships.
