SEVEN barangays shared top honors in the 7th leg of the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) Weekly Dancesport Barangay Circuit Competition last Saturday at Tisa 2 Elementary School.

Unlike the previous editions where one or two teams came out on top, the latest installment of the weekly competition had multiple barangays emerging victorious.

Clinching berths for the Grand Finale on July 31 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu are dancers coming from Barangays City Central, Guadalupe, Pardo, Labangon, Inayawan, Tejero, and Tisa 1-2.

Labangon’s pair Royce Jay Canoy and Rhia Joy Romeo topped the Youth Close Latin event while Ruden Estillore and Odette Bermudez of Inayawan dominated the Open Latin event of the same division.

In the Juniors division, Tisa 1-2’s Vince Pacaña and Clair Danes Larombe ruled the Latin Close dance.

CCSC’s Zaldy Ocampo and Julia Lopez bagged the Latin Open category crown.

The tandem of Kent Dale Codilla and Camille Querubin from Tejero, meanwhile, snatched the Juvenile Latin Close title.

Tisa 1-2 sealed its second and third crowns courtesy of the pairs of Teodoro Cuizon-Joana Mae Garciano and Eric Cagabhion-Edita Acribon in the Parent and Child and Parent events, respectively.

City Central’s John and Sofia Quilaton dominated the Juvenile Close Standard dance.

Guadalupe’s Elvin Bautista and Christina Gabutin emerged champions in the Junior Close standard category, while Pardo’s Jean Luego and Krisan Unabia won the Junior Open standard event.

The 8th leg will be hosted by Barangay Mabolo next week.
