In his speech during the Inaugural Session on Tuesday afternoon, Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing said that in terms of infrastructure, the Mandaue City government is serious with its earlier decision to purchase the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) with a vision to develop it into a leading venue for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in the Visayas.

“We will pursue our negotiations with the Province to acquire the building and make the whole complex Mandauehanon-owned,” said Quisumbing.

He added that they are exploring joint venture proposals from the private sector to develop the property.

Meanwhile, the City Engineering Office has committed to complete reblocking and transfer of the fire victims of barangays Guizo and Mantuyong, who are temporarily staying at CICC, within three months.
