Cobras finish Shakey’s elims with victory

THE SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) Cobras ended their elimination round campaign on a high note as they recovered from an opening set meltdown to hack out a 19-25, 25-14, 25-15 triumph against the winless Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League of Champions yesterday at Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.

SWU bucked a slow start to chalk up the win and finish the tournament with a 2-2 (win-loss) card.

With the victory, SWU is set to battle for fifth place tomorrow against either the King’s Montessori School or Central Philippine University, which were playing as of press time.
