TWO employees of Mandaue City Hall’s City Planning Department were terminated after being caught playing video games inside the office.

Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing posted the photo of the two employees who were playing video games in his Facebook account.

“This is a picture of City Hall employees inside the Planning Office and why they just lost their jobs”, the caption of the photo reads.

Quisumbing said the photo was sent by a City Hall employee to Atty. Elaine Bathan, the city’s chief of staff and was forwarded to him. The photo was taken a few days, but it was just forwarded to him today.

Both employees were Job Order (J.O.) employees but Quisumbing refused to divulge their names.

When asked whether the termination had to undergo due process Mayor Quisumbing replied “For J.O.s it’s a simpler process but it doesn’t mean that whether they are J.O.s, regular, casual, if they are caught violating and they are not performing the level of service to the city of Mandaue they should expect similar actions.”
