WITH Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla posting a solid double-double game and his teammates clicking offensively, the defending champions Convergys Converters pocketed a straight win via a 90-81 bashing of the Accenture Sharks last Saturday in the Elite Classic of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.
The Converters followed up their 87-72 opening day win over the Eperformax Reds by getting 21 points, 18 rebounds, five blocks, two assists and two steals from Resilla.
Support came aplenty for Resilla as Jaime Pacquiao, Franz Dysam, Aldene Jay Batino, Lourenz Limpangog and Kenneth all scored in double figures for a combined 64 points.
Archie Brian Batua finished with 20 markers and 10 rebounds, Ryan Edward Llanos and Junas Marion Misa each tallied 20 points, Marloni Gonzales piled up 13 markers, 10 rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block but their production went for naught as the Sharks dropped a second straight match to fall to 0-2 (win-loss).
In the other Elite Classic game, Eperformax bounced back from that 15-point loss to Convergys after they downed the Sykes Pioneers, 73-67.
Robert Gilo paced the Reds with 22 points and nine boards, while Esrom Cuizon and Rafael Cuico pitched in 17 and 16, respectively.
Sherwin Anghay was the lone double-digit scorer Sykes with 12 as the Pioneers stumbled after their campaign with a 68-65 win over the Sharks.
Also making it to the win column in Elite Classic were the Telstra Boomerangs, who escaped the Wipro Wildcats, 70-66.
Jasper Christian Diaz collected 16 points, 18 boards, three steals and a block, Jetro Gonzaga donated 14 and Jaygard Vios added 12 for the Boomerangs, who recovered from their blowout 49-65 loss to Lexmark.
Pol Alfeched topped the Wildcats (0-1) with 21 points.
In the lone EVO League match, the Dynnino Raptors recorded their first win in the league by nipping the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 60-57.
