Two dead, 22 hurt in Alcantara truck crash

Two persons were killed and 22 others were injured when a government dumptruck owned by Moalboal town fell into a 20-foot ravine in barangay Lawaan, Alcantara town southwest of Cebu at past 12 noon today.

The victims were about to attend a funeral in a mountain barangay of Bala, Moalboal but had to travel through the narrow Alcantara road.

The fatalities were identified as Manuel Templado, 73, and Delfin Yodico, 41, both from barangay Bala.

Of the injured victims, 18 are confined at the Badian District Hospital while seven others were brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, police said.
