Transport network vehicle service Grab Philippines has suspended the driver tagged in a viral Facebook post who allegedly abused a passenger yesterday amid an ongoing investigation.

“We do not tolerate any behavior that threatens the safety and well-being of our passengers and drivers and this incident is not an exception,” Grab said in an advisory posted on its social media pages.

The ridesharing company was referring to the complaint of one Angel Ramos, who claimed that the driver of the GrabCar she took going to Makati was unreasonably irate and even threatened her that he was a policeman, and he shoots people.

This was after Ramos asked if she can go back to get her wallet and if the driver had smaller bills to her P1,000 bill.

Ramos identified the driver as Regino Silagan Taacon Jr., with plate number YR 0797.

She took to Facebook to share their exchange:

“Me: Kuya may barya po ba kayo sa 1,000?

Driver: Titignan ko, ba’t ba kasi sumasakay kayo wala kayong barya.

Me: Eh kuya naiwan ko yung barya ko (which is ‘yun nga yung nakalimutan)

Driver: Dapat kasi nagdadala kayo ng barya! Hindi kami taxi, “CAR” kami!

Me: Kuya nakalimutan ko nga po, dapat may barya kayo.

Driver: WAG MO AKO SINASAGOT SAGOT, BUMABARIL AKO!!!!

Me: Eh ba’t n’yo po ako babarilin?!! (Takot na takot nako)

Driver: Di mo ako kilala wag kang sumasagot jan!! Di mo ako kilala police ako!! May pinag-aralan ako may pinag aralan ka ba?!!!!

Me: May pinag-aralan ako kuya. ‘Wag mo ‘ko ginaganyan.

Driver: Ay P***** I** wag mko sinasagot ng ganyan!”

Ramos said Taacon kept shouting at her, and she was already crying out of fear.

Afraid that the driver would pull out a gun, Ramos said she asked to be dropped off even though she has not yet reached her destination.

“Grab, Sana mabigyan ng action ‘yung nangyari sakin kasi sana hindi na sya nag DRIVER kung ganyan ugali niya (Grab, please take action on what happened to me; he should not have been a driver if his attitude is like that),” she said.

Grab said they will continue to update their pages with developments.
