TWO cousins headed home were injured by falling rocks caused by a landslide in Barangay Manipis, Talisay City at past 10 pm Monday.

Barangay chairman Emma Cabiluna said the names are Lyndon Seldas, 23, and Aldrin Bacus, 16. She said she asked a motorist to take both victims to the Talisay City District Hospital. Bacus sustained major injuries on his left knee while Seldas only sustained minor injuries on both legs. Both were on their way to Toledo City from Barangay Tabunok.

Cabiluna said most workers especially those living in Barangay 7, Minglanilla town and Barangay Biga, Toledo City would take the Manipis route.

Last Saturday a landslide occurred in the area following heavy rains the night before. The road was immediately cleared. A road block was placed near the barangay hall to warn motorists that the area won’t be accessible tonight. Cabiluna said she will ask the contractor of an ongoing road project nearby to help them clear the road on Tuesday morning.
