Free running, athletics clinic held in Mantalungon, Dalaguete
THE CEBU Provincial Sports Commission started its grassroots program after it visited Barangay Mantalungon, Municipality of Dalaguete southern Cebu last Saturday for a free running and athletics clinic.
The running clinic was participated by around a hundred children and teachers and was conducted by athletics coaches Franz Berizo and Anthony Santillan.
This was the first time a running and athletics clinic was held in the barangay considered as the “Vegetable Basket of Cebu.”
According to Cebu Provincial Sports Commission official Lyle Larida, who is also an athletics coach, the free clinic was requested by the PESS coordinator of Sampig Elementary School in the mountainous part of Dalaguete town.
The Cebu Provincial Sports Commission was recently relaunched with new plans to develop further the quality of sports programs in the province of Cebu.
