DBTC rules Mr. Coffee football

HOST team Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) booters lorded the one-day inaugural Mr. Coffee Football Cup yesterday at th DBTC campus in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

The Bosconian booters captured four titles in the tournament as they ruled the 38-above, under-11, boys’ under-17 and under-13 divisions.

The 38-above Bosconian squad represented by the Don Bosco Alumni FC finished its campaign with 10 points after logging three wins and a draw in the league-type format competition.

Disqualified

In the under-13 division, DBTC-B took the crown from Los Amigos FC, which was disqualified after organizers found out that the team had an overaged player in its roster.

Los Amigos actually beat DBTC-B, 2-0, in the finals. Its under-15 division team was also disqualified for the same reason.

In the under-11 division, DBTC-A edged fellow Bosconians DBTC-E, 2-1, in the finals to capture the title while in the boys under-17, DBTC-B emerged on top after gathering 10 points off three wins and single draw.

In the men’s open the vaunted Leylam FC edged Suzuki FC, 2-1, in the finals to rule the division.

Chicos FC went unbeaten to emerge as the champions in the women’s open ’division.
In the under-15 division, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu topped the division.
