HARLEY Davidson finally barged into the win column in Division A of the PLDT SME Nation – Alfredo Gothong 21st SHAABAA Cup Basketball Tournament after besting Gaisano Capital, 78-69, last Sunday at the Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.

A finalist last year, Harley Davidson started the season with four straight losses. However, a different Harley team showed up on Sunday to cream Gaisano Capital and drop them down to the middle of the pack with a 3-3 win-loss mark.

Harley started hot, 23-11 and held steady the rest of the way to improve to 1-4. Fletcher Galvez carried the fight for Harley with a whopping 30 points while Jair Igna backed him up with 17.

In the other Division A game, the Cebu Landmasters solidified their hold of first place with an 83-75 win over reigning champions Petron Bling Nation. Petron stayed close with the Landmasters until the second when the latter pulled away with a 19-11 run.

They kept the pressure up in the third and fought off Petron’s repeated comeback attempts down the stretch for their fifth win in six games. Petron on the other hand, fell to 2-4.

Daryle Tan led the Landmasters with 22 points while Moncrief Rogado had 16.

Petron got the bulk of their points from their backcourt with Dave Ting scoring 21 and Aaron Sing chipping in 18.
