2014 Festival Queen: Tuburan lead dancer wins crown
Pauline Amelnickx of Tribu Himag-ulaw from Placer, Masbate is first-runner up.
The Festival Queen competition is a search for the lead dancer with exceptional qualities, both in physical beauty and dancing skills, among her peers.
The honor this year went to 19-year-old Christine Abellanosa of Tribu Tinubdan sa Kauswagan of Tuburan municipality, Cebu.
She was crowned on Friday night after dancing on stage with 10 other lead lead dancers at the Cebu City Sports Center grandstand.
Abellanosa, the 10th Sinulog festival queen, won four corporate awards and five special awards. She won Best in Solo Performance and Best in Festival Costume. Her group also won Best in Musicality and Best in Production Presentation.
