‘NAGING BATO PA’
Police generals and regional directors were supposed to receive hefty Christmas bonuses from the government.
But a day after announcing the bonuses, Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said the allocated bonuses were cancelled.
He said Malacañang may have been discouraged by the questions about the source of the fund.
A man said Dela Rosa should not have announced it to the public.
“Pera na, naging Bato dela Rosa pa,” he said.
HO-HUM HOMILIES
Some priests should really take an extra course on how to prepare and deliver homilies.
During the Misa de Gallo, some churchgoers could not help but express dismay over lengthy and boring homilies.
One parishioner said their priest has lots of good points in his homily. The problem is, he said, the priest didn’t know how to deliver his piece well and failed to connect with the people.
“Mag-andam pud unta na silag wali nga maka-relate ang mga tawo uy. Walay pulos ang wali kon ang mga tawo wala kasabot sa ilang buot ipasabot. Kaanugon lang (They should have prepared homilies that the people can relate to. There is no point to a homily that no one can understand. Such as waste),” the parishioner said.
