OVER P100,000 in cash will be at stake in the Consolacion Mountain Bike Duathlon slated March 26 in SM City Consolacion.
The seven-category race has attracted some of the big names in the sport like Cebuano cyclist Jun Duron, National Team duathlete Joland Olmilla and lone Filipino XTerra Champion Joseph Miller.
The Talisay native Duron said the race will play a vital role in his preparation for the upcoming Asian Mountain Bike Series on April 23 in Japan, where he looks to defend the Asian MTB crown he won last year.
Race organizer Alan Choachuy told reporters during the press conference last Friday that they are expecting to attract 300 participants.
Registration has already started last Monday.
“We made the race really affordable for the participants for them to enjoy,” Choachuy said.
Registration rates for early bird will end this March 1. Registration fee before the deadline is set at P600 for the individual division and P800 for the Relay Open. Registration fee after March 1 is pegged at P800 for the individual category and P1200 for relay open.
Interested competitors may sign up at YKK Bike Shop, Cycle Logic and Missing Link until March 15.
